Danville residents are dusting off their lawn
chairs and digging out their red, white and blue finery for the upcoming Annual
Fourth of July Parade. The theme for 2013 is "People Helping People."
Since 1975, the best of Danville can be seen in the 4th of July parade, one
of the largest special events in the Bay Area. Each year, families and residents
of all ages gather in great numbers to watch and participate in the popular
event, which runs through downtown Danville
Hosted by the Kiwanis Club of
San Ramon Valley, the Danville 4th of July Parade will honor local community
service organizations. Parade sponsorships and entry fees will raise funds that
are donated to local community service organizations in the San Ramon Valley.
With an expected parade crowd of over 40,000 in attendance, here are
some tips for a great parade experience:
This year's parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, July
Reserving some premium sidewalk spots along the

of July stuff after 6:00 p.m. on July 3. Residents are warned that anything
placed out on the roadway before 6:00 p.m. will be confiscated by the Town and

The parade route runs from the corner of Hartz Avenue and Railroad Avenue,
continues down Hartz and San Ramon Valley Boulevard, and ends at the corner of
San Ramon Valley Boulevard and Sycamore Valley Road.

Walking or biking for nearby residents is the
best bet. The Iron Horse Trail is a sensible and easy route to get to the
downtown without having to spend much time riding on surface streets. Free supervised bike parking will be available from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm.

WB Sycamore Valley Rd. and Remington Loop between SRV Blvd and Sheri Ln.
