Danville's goal is to promote and encourage a vibrant, diverse, and healthy local economy, within an appropriate scale and character, as a means of supporting an outstanding quality of life for all Town businesses and residents while strengthening local economic commerce.
Support for the business community and ongoing revitalization of the downtown have always been priorities for the Town of Danville. With adoption of the Retail Incentives Program, the Town developed a unique permit processing program which reduces the amount of time needed to review tenant improvement applications. The “Business Concierge Service” allow retail business owners to schedule just one application review meeting at which Town representative from Planning, Building and Economic Development are all present. This process reduces tenant vacancy by consolidating all the required reviews into a single session.
The Retail Incentives Program has benefitted over 45 businesses in Danville during this difficult economic time. Grant funding is still available for retail businesses to assist with Marketing and Façade Improvements. For more information review the Retail Stimulus Program Guidelines .
