• Community Parks

  • The Town of Danville owns, operates and maintains over 167 acres of parkland, most of which is used for active recreation.  Six community parks which include amenities such as children’s play equipment, sports fields, picnic areas, bocce ball courts, a dog park, and walking trails. In addition, 20 acres have been improved with trails or special use facilities.

  • Sports Fields are open for the season

Natural grass sports fields maintained by the Town of Danville and the San Ramon Valley Unified School District within the Towns of Danville and Alamo close during the winter months in order to give Town staff time to do routine maintenance and give the grass time to grow and repair. The fields will be open, weather permitting.  This includes the Canine Corral Dog Park at Hap Magee Ranch Park.  However, wet weather will lead to some day-to-day closures of the fields and dog park.

To get information on the status of the Town's sports fields as well as the dog park, residents are encouraged to contact the Maintenance Information Line, at 314-3484. The message on the information line is updated by Noon on weekdays and 7:00 a.m. on weekends when weather conditions prompt closures.

    Dog Park Tuesday Closures Continue

During the normal usage season, the Canine Corral at Hap Magee Ranch Park is closed for maintenance every Tuesday.  This closure will allow maintenance work to be completed at the site while minimizing the impacts on the user groups.  Tasks such as mowing, irrigation repairs, weed abatement, hardscape repairs and others will be conducted. This weekly closure, approved by the Joint Planning and Operations Committee for Hap Magee Ranch Park, will also allow the grass a day of rest which should extend the life of the turf to further enhance the usability of this area and maximize the experience for patrons of the dog park.
