  • Message from Chief Simpkins:

Chief PicMy name is Steve Simpkins and I wanted to take a moment to express how honored I am to be selected as the Danville Police Chief. Having the opportunity to be a part of such an excellent organization is very exciting. I look forward to working with our officers and members of the community.

I encourage Town residents to call us and utilize our services. Preventing crime is a partnership; your watchful eyes around the community can only enhance our crime fighting abilities. For our part, we will keep a constant eye out for the safety and welfare of the community and be pro-active in our efforts.

I would also like to encourage Town residents to contact the Police Department with any suggestions they may have on how we can better serve the community. I have always maintained an “open door” policy and I hope our residents will bring their concerns to me.

I am extremely proud of the staff at our Police Department. You are being served by a group of true professionals whose commitment to providing the highest level of police services brings distinction to the Town of Danville.

  • Part of providing the high quality of life available to Danville residents is in keeping those residents safe. The Danville Police Department, formed when the Town incorporated in 1982, strives to maintain a safe environment for those who live and work in Danville. With 30 sworn officers, 10 reserve officers and 16 volunteers, the Danville P.D. is recognized as a leader in service and safety.

In addition to their normal crime prevention and patrol duties, Danville Police also provide resource officers at area schools, conduct classes for students on everything from bullying to cyber-safety and meet with citizen groups to give residents the information and resources they'll need to keep themselves and their possessions safe .
