  • Message from Chief Simpkins:

     Chief S.small

As we enter this holiday season I would be remiss if I didn’t take the opportunity to thank you, the residents of Danville, for your support, encouragement and watchful eyes.  Fighting crime and keeping the public safe is a partnership; the Police Department relies on the assistance of our citizens to let us know when things are out of place.  In turn we strive to be ever-vigilant, doing our best to make Danville attractive for residents and unattractive to the bad guys.

2012 has been an excellent year for Danville.  As a community we opened our new Veteran’s Memorial Building, welcomed home Olympic gold medalists and hosted many other successful special events.

Looking forward to 2013, we will be continuing to reach out to the public. The partnership between police/community is an important one and we look to build on that through ongoing outreach. For those interested in the inner workings of the Danville Police Department, we will host another session of our popular Citizen’s Academy in the Spring and an Open house in the Fall.

Even without those events, I encourage you to talk to us if you have questions or concerns that we can help with.

We are proud to serve this great community and to do our part to maintain Danville’s small town atmosphere and outstanding quality of life.  Have a wonderful holiday season.

    Thank you,

    Steve Simpkins

    Chief of Police
