The entire community is responsible for public-safety, not just the police.  Danville's community policing philosophy is one that promotes community partnerships and problem solving between the police and the public.

A part of problem solving is taking an active role in employing prevention techniques, which can dramatically decrease the chances of crime happening to you.  While no safety or prevention tip can ever guarantee immunity for crime, taking a few extra minutes to think about and use good crime prevention techniques can often remove one key factor criminals look for-opportunity.
