• Community Parks

  • Park and recreational facilities and services are an important component of the quality of life in Danville.  The park facilities in Danville are currently provided by several public agencies and by the private sector.  Public agencies include the Town of Danville, U.S. National Park Service, California Department of Parks and Recreation, East Bay Regional Park District, San Ramon Valley Unified School District, and Contra Costa County.  Private sector organizations include private businesses, homeowner and neighborhood associations, and community based organizations.

The Town of Danville owns, operates and maintains over 167 acres of parkland, most of which is used for active recreation.  Six community parks which include amenities such as children’s play equipment, sports fields, picnic areas, bocce ball courts, a dog park, and walking trails. In addition, 20 acres have been improved with trails or special use facilities. Town's Strategic Plan for Parks, Recreation and Art.

At Danville’s parks you’ll find the perfect setting for your summer picnics, complete with barbecue grills, play areas with water features for the kids, and a lush landscape that is the perfect backdrop for conquering the coals. Enjoy some quality time with family and friends, play a game of volleyball, toss the football around, or take that special someone on a romantic picnic. You can do all this and more at one of the Town parks, but don’t be left out in the cold.

    Dog Park Tuesday Closure
During the normal usage season, the Canine Corral at Hap Magee Ranch Park is closed for maintenance every Tuesday until noon.  This closure will allow maintenance work to be completed at the site while minimizing the impacts on the user groups.  Tasks such as mowing, irrigation repairs, weed abatement, hardscape repairs and others will be conducted. This weekly closure will also allow the grass a day of rest which should extend the life of the turf to further enhance the usability of this area and maximize the experience for patrons of the dog park.

It is also closed during periods of inclement weather. Please call Dog Park Information (925) 314-3484 to learn of any closures.

For more information, contact Maintenance Services Superintendent, Dave Casteel at (925) 314-3450 or maintenance@danville.ca.gov.
