In efforts to maintain traffic safety and livability standards throughout the Town, the parking of oversized and commercial vehicles is subject to specific conditions as defined in the Danville Municipal Code, Sections 8-18 and 8-19. An oversized vehicle is defined as a single vehicle, trailer, or vehicle/trailer combination with dimensions that exceed 20 feet in length and 7 feet in height. Under all circumstances, the parking of oversized vehicles, particularly for purposes of commercial loading and unloading activities, must adhere to and is subject to all regulations as defined in the California Vehicle Code. Commercial loading and unloading activities, specifically in the downtown area, shall utilize existing marked loading zones whenever possible, and so as not to disrupt the safe and efficient movement of vehicle and pedestrian traffic. The Downtown Public Parking Map identifies all loading zone areas located on public streets and parking lots within the Downtown core.
Unless it is relating to work or business in the immediate area, parking of oversized vehicles in residential areas is prohibited. If oversized vehicle parking in residential areas is required for non-business activities (such as overnight RV parking, etc.), an oversized vehicle parking permit must be obtained through the Danville Police Department, 510 La Gonda Way, or by calling (925) 314-3700 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
