Stone Valley Road To See Improvements

Stone Valley ResurfaceLocated at the north end of Danville, Stone Valley Road is a popular way to get to Interstate 680, Monte Vista High School, Oak Hill Park, and the neighborhoods surrounding Green Valley Road.  This critical road carries several thousand vehicles each day, and a road maintenance project will ensure that the commute is nice and smooth before the start of the new school year.

Contra Costa County is responsible for maintaining most of this roadway, with the Town taking care of a small section within its boundaries. Starting in mid-July, the County will be performing a major pavement resurfacing operation over the entire length of Stone Valley Road between I-680 and Green Valley Road.  The project will include resurfacing of the Town’s portion of the roadway as part of an agreement reached between the two agencies.  The estimated total project cost is $255,000, with the Town contributing $17,000 toward the roadway work located within its municipal boundary.

While Stone Valley Road will remain open during construction, some delays can be expected due to lane closures. These operations will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. during the week. The work is expected to be completed in early August.
